Source policy
What counts as evidence, how sources are ranked, and when a social post is not enough.

Primary sources first
Official release notes, repositories, model cards, vendor documentation, and research papers are preferred for release, licensing, compatibility, and specification claims. We preserve the URL and access date and add an archived URL when practical.
Universal claim record
Every supported claim published on the site records a source URL and an explicit verification state, regardless of source type. This applies to product, benchmark, compatibility, licensing, pricing, acquisition, and other material claims. A preferred source does not remove that requirement.
Independent evidence
Independent testing is useful when its method is visible. We disclose when a result comes from our own test, another publisher’s test, or a vendor demonstration. Those categories are not interchangeable.
Social sources
X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Discord, and forum posts are discovery leads. A post may support a claim when it is the official announcement by the responsible project or author; otherwise, material claims need corroboration.
Source conflicts
When official sources disagree, we show the disagreement and scope the claim to the evidence that can be verified. We do not silently choose the more exciting version.
